Chocolate Cake in 1 minute and 30 seconds!

Wohoooo, I am about to share with you special people an incredible recipe, but shhhhh, tell no one!

Here we go:

1 egg
2 or 3 tablespoons of Nutella
2 tablespoons of self raising flour
2 tablespoons of sugar
MIX IT all,
PUT IT in a ramekin
POP IT in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds and
EAT IT

Yummy hey?

E.

PS: This fantastic recipe was created by Emilie Laystary, a friend of my good friend Juliette! Here's her blog: http://penseesplastiques.blogspot.com/
PPS: Do admire the lovely bright red Starbucks cup C. got me for my birthday last year :)

Coffee Conversations ©

I imagine, as a future contributor to The New Yorker, what little crumb of trivia I can segue into a six-page article and my mind always goes to coffee conversations.  Copyright C.!

I do not find sitting sipping extra hot Mocha (no cream and a sachet of brown sugar) among the surl of café conversations eavesdropping.  I sit there with my book, paper or pen in hand, probably some Francois Hardy in the background and enjoy soaking in the snippets of conversations buzzing about the place.  Would it be interesting to note down what you hear from each little party, couple, meeting at Starbucks, Kitchen and Pantry, Fig & Olive, Gail's Bakery, Sturekatten, Kaffekoppen - and concoct a fantastical trivial commentary?

I think so.

I think E. and I both fall into this generation's blog-affinity for taking pictures of your food and coffee conversations - here's a little collection of Coffee Conversations ©

The Academy Awards 2011 - What a SNOOZEFEST!

Finally I have the channel that sends the Oscars, so I fortify myself to sit up till 6 am!

Most. Boring. Oscars. Ever.  The Academy chose James Franco and Anne Hathaway to host the Oscars in order to bring in a younger audience; I have no idea if that worked, probably...but there was no chemistry...NO chemistry.

I even watched the two-hour long red carpet bit, there was a lot of Baywatch dresses going on!  My favourite however was Mila Kunis dress, utterly stunning!
What was your favourite dress?

Funny fact - the annoying Swedish commentators Filip and Fredrik (who generally contributed with crude, rude and lewd comments - only allowed in Swedish television it seems), mentioned that after Libya, Sweden is the country where the least amount of people follow the Oscars (of the countries that broadcast it.)

Off to the interview, fingers crossed!

Have a good day everyone! E.

The Look

I've got the hair colour down pat, now just need someone to bite me in the neck and carry me like a newborn kitten into the lap of a news agency and tell me, do your thing - so I can get my hands on these leather lovlies.  Anyone have any journalist job offers?

A Little Pretention Doesn't Hurt Anyone

Yo!

So, New Year's thing was to not buy any more books until all those unread tomes residing in my wicker bookcases would allow me to sniff their pages.

Trying to make myself feel a bit more important and organized I ventured to write down a to-do list of a selection of books that would fit on one page of my little agenda.

I'm on The Group by Mary MacCarthy, so that's two books down, a book I've been looking forward to read for quite a bit....yet, it's proving to be quite the snooze.  Not impressed.  Well you write something better, you say!  Yah, I'll get there.  Tihihi.

First girly post (more coming soon)

C. had warned me: "Never ever go for a guy who just had a long term relationship".

So, we have friends and they are supposedly here to give us advice, which they do, but we don't listen to them, do we?

Three years ago my friends warned me: "Don't date this guy, he's dangerous". I dated him.

Two months ago my friends warned me: "Don't date this guy, he's on the rebound". I dated him.

Yes, I know they were right. I actually knew right from the start that number one was dangerous and that number 2 was on the rebound. However, and sadly enough, I have to test, to see for myself and to get hurt to understand that I can't tame a dangerous and manipulative man and that I can't make a man on the rebound fall madly in love with me and tell me I'm the love of his life.

Well, friends give advice and we don't listen, but they listen when we say we should have listened to their advice.

An Atonement Green Dream

Rather than describe my dream as a fluffy pink dream, I'd like my dream to be the colour of the deep emerald green of Cecilia's character in Atonement.  True, it is the colour of dollars, but simply, tis my favourite colour.  And so what is my emeral green atonement dream?  Journalism.  Imagine making money on what you love doing!
Imagine being paid to be a contributing columnist to The New Yorker's 'Talk of the Town' section, where the littlest detail becomes a topic of conversation - a crack in the concrete where a weed has broken through or the carcass of a prehistoric woolly mammoth or dog-napping.
It's a long way to go - so here's to practicing!

Oh...and welcome to Two Cups of Mocha - where we contribute from Stockholm and London.  We love mocha, extra hot.
